●  Owned and operated three businesses in DeKalb County before retiring

●  Served as Captain in the U.S. Army

●  Republican Precinct Chairman for 4 years for the Montgomery Precinct

●  Graduate of the University of Florida, BSBA Marketing and Math; attending
on a full academic Football Scholarship (lettering three years); joined the
ROTC program at the University of Florida

●  Member of PKA fraternity

●  Graduate of Decatur High School, Decatur, Georgia


SERVICE

●  Board of Directors for Lutheran Towers Senior Living Facility in downtown Atlanta for six years; served as President of the Board in the final year. This is a first class HUD property for low income, independent living. Managed a $2,000,000 + renovation project that came in under budget and on time.

●  Active member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Atlanta, Georgia

●  Traveled on mission trip to Nicaragua

●  Participated in the Lutheran Church Food Ministry which has served over
2,000,000 meals to homeless and working poor in downtown Atlanta

●  Volunteered for over 20 years with the Atlanta Track Club’s 4th of July
Road Race

●  Support Meals on Wheels in DeKalb County

●  Support Shepherd’s Men project for military service men

●  Volunteers to fill in as parent or grandparent at Montgomery Elementary
School

●  Supporter of both Marist and Chamblee High School fundraising events, i.e.
Annual Mud Run – furnished heavy equipment

●  Assisted other districts in Brookhaven with their zoning matters

●  Volunteer at Goshen Valley Boys Ranch, foster home for boys in Waleska, GA

●  Volunteer and coordinator with local schools for the Totes To Tots campaign benefitting the foster children in Georgia

●  Supporter and volunteer of Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta for 15 years

●  Contributor to Lifeline Shelter in Chamblee

●  Resident of Oak Forest Hills Neighborhood for 47 years with his wife,
Marie, and two rescued dogs named Cash and Bailey
